I was given the freedom to push this design beyond the expected, translating Ralph Steadman’s chaotic, expressive style into a bold reinterpretation of the classic playing card deck. His self-portrait became the ideal centerpiece for the card back, allowing me to balance iconic card symmetry with the raw, splattered intensity of his style.
Produced by Art of Play with Flying Dog Brewery and visionary artist Ralph Steadman, the deck features all-new artwork printed on premium playing cards, including 15 classic Steadman paintings originally created for Flying Dog beer labels, custom face cards, and an ink-splattered back design, all housed in a letterpress-printed tuck box.
